Luke 12:32 It is the Father’s Good Pleasure To Give You the Kingdom

Luke 12:32 Fear not little flock for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

God is never trying to hold back on you. He loves you and wants you to know you are loved. There are great promises that God has made in His Word. Every promise He has made is for each one of His kids. You happen to be one of those kids. This verse is saying to us that it is God’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. If it is His good pleasure for me and you to have His Kingdom, then He is not pleased when we do not posses His heart’s desire. The question that must be answered is: “What is in the Kingdom?” What things does God want you to have that will please Him if you have them? It would be simple to just look at the verses prior to verse 32, and say those items mentioned are the extent of what God is talking about. The problem is that Jesus used the word kingdom. A kingdom consists of more than our basic needs being met.

The reason a rainbow was chosen as our illustration for this blog is simple–kingdom can mean different things to different people. While I hope this is a pleasant verse filling you with thoughts of possibilities, what you may want or need for it to mean may be different for someone else. So no one picture would have fit in this case. Just anticipating that Jesus may be saying that God wants to do something wonderful is intriguing. So get excited because you’re about to discover something wonderful.

With all of this said, let us get to the questions. Let us parse the meaning of my favorite verse in the Bible. What is Luke 12:32 saying to you? What is in God’s Kingdom? What do you believe God has for you in this verse? What would you like for it to mean?

Jn.3:3 tells us that there is a “seeing” of the kingdom and an “entering” of the kingdom (Jn.3:5). The kingdom of God is a “spiritual” position and many confuse it with a literal heaven that we

Laurie, in just a few words it is so clear that you get it. Thanks for what you have said because it is a spiritual position that gives the believer access now to the promises/system of God. Understanding this makes miracles happen or just simply put the revelation that the Bible will do exactly what is says it will. Jesus established the Kingdom and every believer is in the Kingdom not just when we get to eternity but right now. Thank you so much.

The kingdom begins with the will of the Father found in obedience to the Father. Nonetheless let not my will but thine be done.
