THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Pharmkeia”

THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Pharmkeia”

Drug abuse is a sin. Being a drug dealer is a sin. The greek word PHARMAKEIA is translated pharmacy meaning drugs. This of course does not mean pharmaceuticals are bad in themselves. It is referring to altered states caused by using the drugs for a negative purpose. This is the reason so often in Bible translations we see the word sorcery from greek to english. Therefore, it would appear that the proper exegesis of the text below, is declaring those who abuse drugs must be delivered. They must be delivered or face a fate which is equal to that of other damnable sins. I have spent my life trying to see those trapped in the grip of drug abuse set free.

Revelation 21:7 Those who emerge victorious will inherit these things. I will be their God, and they will be my sons and daughters. 8 But for the cowardly, the faithless, the vile, the murderers, those who commit sexual immorality, those who use DRUGS (Pharmakeia) and cast spells, the idolaters and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”
