THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Don’t Practice Lukeism”

The people in Laodicea were deceiving themselves. They did as people do today, in that they look at what they own, and believe all is well. 911, a bad economy, and other tough situations, are the only ways some people will get serious about God’s call. God is looking for a people He can bless tremendously, and they wont forget Him. If you read, for instance, the book of Judges thru the lens of can people be blessed and stay faithful, you might become depressed. The answer so often is no. Listen, when you fill your heart with God’s love thru study and prayer, the tragedy in the lives of others becomes your motivation. You may have the best of everything, but stay focused on others because you feel God’s love for the hurting. Nobody has to prompt you to relieve the suffering of fellow humans. You know God’s solution is to empower you to be the answer to whatever the ill may be. The reason the Lord said in John 4:4 “Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world,” was because you are His instrument. You are His hands and feet in the earth. Don’t allow yourself to become the kind of person God has to allow problems to get you to step up. In this life we are going to have struggles anyway. Let the struggles be related to our growth, and not our disobedience. Lord Bless!

Revelation 3:15‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,
