THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Keep Your Eyes On Jesus”

Peter’s issue, as you will see in this verse, occurred when he took his eyes of Jesus. Peter was doing the impossible. He was walking on water as long as he stayed focused on the Master. The same holds true for us. If we can stay focused we can do great things for God. We must spend large amounts of time reading God’s Word. We must pray & praise God for His greatness. We must remember the times that The Lord has moved on our behalf. If we want to see His hand we must follow His heart. His heart is to be in service to his creation. All of these things keep us focused. These keep our eyes on Jesus. We too will see God’s miracles if we look at Him, & not the storms of life.

Matthew 14:28-33

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
