THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Age Is Just A Number”

God doesn’t care about your age. He will use any willing vessel. Joshua had gotten old after many years in service to God. God in the verse below acknowledges Joshua had gotten old. God then tells Joshua there is still work to be done. Christians never really retire. God will use you in any way you let Him. I once asked an elderly audience if they were willing to be prayer warriors for those of us heading out onto drug infested streets. Some of them may for one reason or another thought they could not go with us, but no program succeeds without prayer. They may have been 80, 90 plus, but where about to become the foundation we needed as we faced certain risk on the street. As the prayed there was proof, nobody ever loses their usefulness in God’s program. Lives changed and everyone was protected, because some seasoned warriors covered us in prayer. This is just one example. There are many things the elderly can do to enhance the Christian walk. What I believe to be their biggest asset is their stories. All of the battles fought, and won can potentially prevent many pitfalls. Their stories can speed up success as you learn which bridges are out along the way. If your starting a program in your church, or wherever, find some seasoned demon slayers to help fight for your success.

Joshua 13:1
1 Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years;
and Jehovah said unto him, Thou art old and well
stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
