THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Honey-Comb & Wisdom”

THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Honey-Comb & Wisdom”

Proverbs 24:13-14
13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good;
honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know also that wisdom is like honey for you:
If you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.

I wish I could have shown this set of verses to my mother when I was growing up. I would have said God wants me, in fact has commanded me to eat sweets. I am not sure if it would have worked. Well, I know it would not have worked, but I could have at least tried on occasion to have some extra leverage when seeking candy instead of veggies.

What God is saying in these verses is so powerful. Wisdom is like honey for us. When you are wise what you hope for, what you dream about cannot be stopped from happening. Exactly how does this work? Let us first define wisdom, and see how these verses come together.

Wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise. The soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of such experience,and knowledge.

So with wisdom flowing in your life, you can better make the decisions that will make your dreams come to fruition. As you read through the book of proverbs it begins to become clear wisdom, and God’s Word are synonymous. So if one wants to be wise, seek to know God’s Word. The wisdom of God’s Word gets sweeter, and sweeter to you, as you see the Word perform itself. As you see a promise, believe it to be true, and see it take place in your own life, nothing can be sweeter.
