THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “He Didn’t Kill Me”

THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “He Didn’t Kill Me”

Leave it to me at 3:00AM in Miami to run into one of my peeps. I couldn’t sleep so I took a 10 minute drive to the condo I’m going to buy. Usher has a spot there but I didn’t run into him. Instead 5 secs out of my car, with a Bentley dealership and the like a block away, I get approached for money. Jr. B was his name. He’d been in and out of jail. His face was decorated with 2 teardrop tattoos. Teardrops can have a few meanings, but it didn’t take long to realize Jr. B has sent a few people to an early grave. I wasn’t afraid I just started doing my thing. You walked up to me so it’s Jesus time. I shared and he told his story of the temptation to go back to his old ways. I thought it won’t be tonight cause God’s Spirit is all over me. I explained the result of the dead end he was considering. Before I knew anything he was in my arms releasing his pain. I’m leaving a lot out so let me say the Holy Spirit was present. I was right where I was supposed to be that night last week. I’ve been at this for years so don’t go running out to do something like this just to have a story. Ok. So after talking, more hugging, and confessing I decide I’m going to take the pictures I drove down there to take. Since someone else had come up during our conversation Jr.B, a former killer I presume, now wants to stand guard until I’m done taking pictures. Yep, as I walked around the front of the building I had my own personal body guard standing 20 feet away. I finished up said goodbye with a promise to pray for Jr. B continually. When I got back to my hotel I told my wife the story in greater detail. I told her I learned drug dealers are putting battery acid in needles when an addict has crossed them. Three people just died that way not far from where I was. I said God let me know tonight the work doesn’t stop because I’ll have a place across from where the Heat play. Yvette just gave me that you aren’t happy unless your talking to a crackhead look cuddled up to me and went to sleep. What a great beginning to a vacation.
