THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Pressing for Love”

With all of the racial tension going on are you finding it difficult at times to pray for the people who are perpetrating the hateful acts? Is it something requiring much prayer in order to maintain your love walk? I’m just keeping it 100, because I find myself so hurt by the treatment so many Black folks receive I have to pray constantly so that prayers for unrelated things are not hindered. One thing the Lord reminds me of is the loving White friends I have that I know care as much for me as I do them. My wife reminds me when my heart is broken that the root of hate is Satan. The greatest pain occurs when White believers seem to lose sight of simple right and wrong. My feelings become ambivalent at that point. It’s a mix of anger, disappointment, and concern for the soul of a White brother or sister. God has consequences for those with hate in their hearts, or support for those that are exhibiting hate (1 John 3:15). I’m praying to keep my heart pure and hope you are as well. Much Luv!
