The Bible has something to say about big time drug cartels. The Bible in the verse below needs some original language (Koine Greek) help in order to understand its meaning. Let’s read & then exegete the text.  

Revelation 18:23 CSB. the light of a lamp will never shine in you again; and the voice of a groom and bride will never be heard in you again. All this will happen because your merchants were the nobility of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

In other places in Revelation Chapter 18 the word merchant is used followed by a description of what the merchants were selling. In verse 23 on the surface it appears the merchants were involved in sorcery as a way to bring about success. The word sorcery here is actually the Greek word pharmakeia which is where we get the word pharmacy aka drugs. What these merchants are selling that exalts them into nobility & power is drugs. Jesus is explaining that at the end of time He has a severe punishment planned for unrepentant merchants/drug dealers. Once again we see that the Bible is not only relevant for today, but is actually speaking of things in our future. Drug dealers may be getting away, but they won’t get away.
