THOUGHTS FROM JACKIE: “Fan Into Flame”

If you are a believer in Christ you have power resident inside you. The same force that created the universe is alive & well in you. When you speak God’s Word what’s in you brings into existence what you say. The authority God privileged you with when you were created has not diminished in any way. Because of sin your ability to speak with authority was to a degree thwarted. Now, however, with all things restored by the resurrection of Jesus we are once again unlimited in power. The process of activating, or fanning into flame God’s creative force is simplistic. You simply find the promise in scripture that meets your goal and declare that promise back to God coupled with praise as if it has already happened. The challenge is to believe. Strengthening your belief is done by building up your confidence through studying stories in scripture where God came through for people who trusted Him. So get stirred up. Get a fresh fire going.

2 Timothy 1:5-7 AMP. I remember your sincere and unqualified faith [the surrendering of your entire self to God in Christ with confident trust in His power, wisdom and goodness, a faith] which first lived in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am confident that it is in you as well. That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire—the special endowment] which is in you through the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
