Thoughts From Jackie: “Making You the Smartest Person in the Room: The Meaning of the Resurrection“

Thoughts From Jackie: “Making You the Smartest Person in the Room: The Meaning of the Resurrection“

I’m trying to be good here and keep some of my knowledge to myself today. I celebrate the resurrection of Jesus daily not according to the stars.

There were 4 major beatings Jesus went through before He died. I may post my teaching on this later today. Beatings 2&3 are the most vicious beating anyone has ever received from other humans (Isaiah 52:14). What’s most significant is beating #4 (Matthew 27:45-46). This is God’s judgement/wrath being poured out for every sin you would ever commit, sickness you might have, and every emotional/traumatic incident that might rip your life apart. Jesus stood willingly in your place (1John 4:9-10) and took your deserved punishment. For 3 hours, after being beaten (beating #3) by at least 500 men, Jesus is now on the cross taking punishment beyond anything we can comprehend. The most painful part of that 3 hours I believe is spiritual not physical. For all of eternity Jesus and His Father had never been separated until this 3 hour period of the ugly sins of man being on Jesus. God couldn’t look at Him because of our sin that was enveloping Jesus in those hours. Jesus who had been silent cries out for the first time in agony (Psalm 22). I submit to you that what Jesus was struggling with in the Garden of Gethsemane had nothing to do with the physical suffering or death He was about to experience. Jesus was struggling with the 3 hours He and God wouldn’t be connected as they had always been. At the end of the 3 hours Jesus says, “It is finished.”

All of this is vital to the story because it reveals our worth. It is powerful that Jesus would go through so much to get us in a position where the Holy Spirit could once again reside within man (Isaiah 53:10). A position that is beyond head knowledge but of great power back on the inside. When people are in any kind of distress the same power that created the universe is available inside them to change their circumstance (Romans 8:11).

This is the day you have set aside to celebrate that Jesus got up. I thought it to be important for you to have perhaps a deep understanding of what His getting up means. If you have accepted Jesus as your savior then the Holy Spirit is in you. That makes you filled with power. I don’t know about you but for me life circumstances can make me forget the authority I possess. Fortunately, after so many years at this I wake up to the realization of who I am a lot quicker than I did many years ago. The thing is if Jesus said all things are possible then they are all possible (Mark 9:23). Jesus suffered and died to make this true, but more importantly He got up to prove what’s in you is unstoppable (1John 4:4). If you really want to honor Him for what He did for you live powerful. Much Luv!

Romans 8:11 – NASB But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
