I. THEY COULD’T SAY AMEN
Zachariah- unbelief Luke 1:5-20(Read v.6, 13, 18-20)
Gabriel had to shut his mouth so he wouldn’t kill the baby.

5 But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. 6 The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.11 Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!” 12 When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer. 13 He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door!”15 “You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.”
16 Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed. 17 He motioned for them to quiet down and told them how the Lord had led him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers what happened,” he said. And then he went to another place.
II. SAYING AMEN TO GOD
Mary- Luke 1:26-38
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
III. HOW DO I GET A GOOD AMEN?
Intimacy is the key to becoming convinced.

RAS: The reticular activating system (RAS) is an area of the brain responsible for regulating arousal and sleep-wake transitions. It works as a filter. It takes instructions from your conscious mind and passes them on to your subconscious. For instance, hearing your flight number amidst all the chaos and noise would kick in your focus for hearing your flight information. Your RAS gets you locked (Joshua 1:8 apply/quote)
CONCLUSION: This is Missions time. You can be powerful & anointed thru your intimacy. Go deep fulfill your purpose & dreams.
FASTING I
Isaiah 58:1-14
INTRO: You should consult your physician before entering a fast. 100s of churches fast during the 1st of the year. My goal is to make sure there is some good information out there.
PURPOSE OF FASTING: It is not so that you can merit God’s favor which you already have. It is so that you can get focused & build your faith to a point that you realize how much favor you posses. As every hunger pain reminds you to pray it increases your intimacy with God. As intimacy increases you believe more & more that all things are possible. Your spiritual ears can hear God’s voice better because you are purposing to hear from Him. Your not convincing Jesus he is #1 in your life, you are making it a reality for you.
Isaiah 58:1-14(being in position to fast)
TYPES OF FASTS: A Total Fast/Supernatural Fast (No food or water) this fast should not last for more than 3 or 4 days unless divinely appointed by God to last longer. Limited Fast (fruit juices & water) This fast can last for up to 40 days. It should be noted that after the 3rd day hunger dissipates. A Partial Fast/Daniel Fast (fruits & vegetables only) Daniel did this fast for 3 weeks but it can easily last longer.
SACRIFICES: T.V., Sweets, Video Games, Shopping, etc.

Daniel 10:1-14
1 During Cyrus’ third year as king of Persia, Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, received a vision about a great war. It was a true message that Daniel understood.
2 At that time I, Daniel, had been very sad for three weeks.3 I did not eat any fancy food or meat, or drink any wine, or use any perfumed oil for three weeks.
4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was standing beside the great Tigris River.5 While standing there, I looked up and saw a man dressed in linen clothes with a belt of fine gold wrapped around his waist.6 His body was like shiny yellow quartz. His face was bright like lightning, and his eyes were like fire. His arms and legs were shiny like polished bronze, and his voice sounded like the roar of a crowd.
7 I, Daniel, was the only person who saw the vision. The men with me did not see it, because they were so frightened that they ran away and hid.8 So I was left alone, watching this great vision. I lost my strength, my face turned white like a dead person, and I was helpless.9 Then I heard the man in the vision speaking. As I listened, I fell into a deep sleep with my face on the ground.
10 Then a hand touched me and set me on my hands and knees. I was so afraid that I was shaking.11 The man in the vision said to me, “Daniel, God loves you very much. Think carefully about the words I will speak to you, and stand up, because I have been sent to you.” When he said this, I stood up, but I was still shaking.
12 Then the man said to me, “Daniel, do not be afraid. Some time ago you decided to get understanding and to humble yourself before your God. Since that time God has listened to you, and I have come because of your prayers. 13 But the prince of Persia has been fighting against me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the most important angels, came to help me, because I had been left there with the king of Persia.14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people, because the vision is about a time in the future.” NCV
Illus. Daniel out of his fast is seeing the War of angels & demons, Kings, including Alexander the Great, the Messiah, & the end of the world.

Illus. Rusty Nelson said that when he traces back many major moves of God at the Rock Family Worship Center here in Huntsville, fasting was involved.
Illus. In my life so many times multiplied miracles came at the close of times of fasting. Personal financial breakthroughs. Healings, Words of Wisdom & Knowledge. All at the close of a fast. Direction for my family, & ministry. There is just something about tuning in to God.

EXAMPLES Matthew 4:1-3 (Jesus prepared Himself) 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” NASB
Illus. “Bishop Charles Harrison Mason” He fasted 40 days & 40 nights in modern xs (organs dried together/ time in the hospital). He is the founder of the C.O.G.I.C. Many miracles are attributed to his ministry (flies in the tent, wheel chairs on church wall, etc.).
